Websites and CMS for K-12 school districts
Every school site in your district, run from one place.
Podium gives the district office and every school its own site, with approval before anything goes live and one alert that reaches every family at once.
No sign-up. The demo runs on a sample district with seven sites.

Who can publish what, across a district
The district office sets the structure. Each school edits its own site inside it, and a post goes live only after someone with approval rights signs off.
One district, every school
The district homepage and each school’s site, managed together
Every school gets its own site on a subdomain or a custom domain, built from the same templates and blocks. The district controls the brand; principals control their school.
See the district homepageApproval before publishing
Teachers submit, principals approve, then it goes live
Each role sees its own console. A teacher can draft and submit but never publish directly, so nothing reaches a parent without a principal or the district office saying yes.
Try it as each roleAlerts
One alert, on every site that needs it
Push a closure or early dismissal to the whole district or to chosen schools. It appears as a banner on each site and can go out by SMS and email at the same time, now or on a schedule.
Post an alert in the demo- Create once, publish everywhere
- One story to the district feed, chosen school sites, SMS, email, push and social.
- K-12 media hub
- A shared library with release status, alt text and where each image is used.
- Language access
- Track which pages are translated, and let untranslated ones fall back cleanly.
- Policy center
- Board policies with review status and history, in one searchable place.
- Staff directory
- Work contact details kept in one list and shown on every site that needs them.
- Microsites
- Clubs and programs get a page the district can see, instead of a stray free site.
Security and access
Public pages, private drafts
A district site is meant to be read by anyone. What must never be read is a draft, an unreleased photo, or somebody else’s district.
Drafts never reach the public
Row-level security on every table. An unpublished page read anonymously returns zero rows. Tested, not assumed.
Media release on every image
Photos are tagged verified or internal-only, and the editor warns before an internal image goes public.
Readable by people and crawlers
Server-rendered pages, one metadata table behind the sitemap, and text contrast measured to WCAG AA.
Works on its own
Part of the Aptik suite, but needs no other product to run. Your content stays in your district’s tenant.
What a district site actually does in a month
Not the homepage anyone designs for, the calendar, the lunch menu and the bus routes, which is where the traffic goes and what a page builder has to keep easy.
A worked example, not a customer’s data
Visits across the school year
The year starts in September and restarts in January. December is the holidays.
Where the visits land
Top pages this month. The homepage is a doorway, not a destination.
Who publishes
Updates per week. Schools outpublishing the district office is the point of role-based publishing, it means the office stopped being the bottleneck.
